Western Montana DSA
2025 City Council Endorsements

This year Western Montana DSA is endorsing a slate of four candidates for Missoula City Council!
Daniel Carlino is running for reelection in Ward 3, and Kristen Jordan is running for reelection in Ward 6. We have two first-time candidates as well: Lucas Moody in Ward 1 and David Quattrocchi, DQ in Ward 4.
Primary Election: Of these four, the only one who is facing opposition in the primary election is Daniel Carlino in Ward 3. Primary ballots were mailed out on August 10th. Election day is September 9th, so those of you living in Ward 3, please make sure to get your ballots in before then.
The General Election will be on November 4th, and all four candidates will be on the ballot then. You may also vote in person at the elections office located at 140 N Russell St.
Please see below for brief statements from the candidates. More importantly, please see their web sites for detailed information about the policies they advocate and what they intend to do for our community.

I am running for re-election to City Council to build a better Missoula where renters don’t have to worry where they’ll be next month, families can afford to raise their kids in a safe community, and local government works for you.
On the City Council, I have been hungry for change, introducing and passing more policy changes than any other city council member. I am running for City Council to take action that is matched in severity to the problems that make life harder for everyday Missoulians.

I am running for re-election to keep working hard for Ward 6. Representing this community has been an honor, and I’m running to continue delivering results that matter.
Highlights of my work include, standing up for neighbors through blocking a harmful rezone at Reserve and 9th, partnering with the library and police to create a resident-led noise reporting tool, and pushing to relocate the Johnson Street Shelter as much needed affordable housing projects move forward in the MRL Triangle.
You deserve safe sidewalks, well-lit trails, and calm, accessible multi-modal transportation options. I’ll keep fighting for infrastructure that makes our neighborhoods safer and more connected.
Looking ahead, I’ll work to expand affordable housing, improve public transit, invest in green infrastructure, prioritize climate resilience, and ensure youth and underserved voices are also adequately represented in city decision-making.

Let’s build a Missoula where everyone has a home, a job they can depend on, and a community they can walk and bike through with pride.
We are a growing community, but growth shouldn’t come at the expense of our neighbors. By focusing on affordable housing, alleviating homelessness, protecting workers’ rights, and making Missoula a more walkable, bike-friendly city, we can create a Missoula that works for everyone. We must make sure that all of our residents, regardless of income, ability, or background, have the opportunity to thrive in a sustainable, just, and equitable city.

Missoula is at a crossroads. Our city faces a housing crisis, rising inflation costs, and a redevelopment approach that often prioritizes corporate interests over community needs. As a candidate for Ward 4, I am committed to bringing common-sense solutions that put working families first.
Help Shape a Missoula that's Truly Affordable for All. Participatory government and budgeting, local government reform, and much more!
